Buffy, Books, Sharks, Soccer and Tennis

This blog post comes to you in five parts.

Part 1: Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

This is a show that I randomly stumbled upon while I was flipping through the channels while in vacation in Bulgaria a couple of years ago. I happened to like it quite a lot even though I'm not a huge fan of supernatural kind of shows. I've also heard Alex Day (nerimon) talk about it, so I decided that I would give it a try since I finished watching all the episodes of The Office. I'm almost done with the first season of Buffy and I still like the show. I thought that I would get bored of it considering that all they do is kill vampires, but I guess that's not all they do. It can be pretty freaky too especially the last episode I watched had a very creepy clown in it, and I'm very, very scared of clowns... But now I know that whenever I hear the creepy music something "scary" is going to happen or something is going to jump out at you. So yeah, I wanted to share with you  the fact that I like Buffy. Yay

Part 2: Books

I went out to breakfast with my parents today and my mom decided to get a pedicure afterward so my dad and I went to a bookstore just to pass the time (isn't this exciting?!). Of course the moment I walk into a bookstore I have to buy a book, so I headed over to the teen-lit section because I had already decided what book I wanted. I'd decided that I finally had to get myself a Maureen Johnson book. After checking all the John Green books for nerdfighter notes, and not finding any I looked for the J's and they had two of Maureen's books there. One was Bermudaz Triangle and the other one 13 Little Blue Envelopes. Now, I've heard how good both books are, and it was a hard decision and after contemplating for 15 minutes I decided to get 13 Little Blue Envelopes. So this was my great story about buying a book :0

Part 3: Sharks

My best friend Maya and I went to volunteer at the state park across the street on Saturday and we happened to be a part of the strangest thing... So we get there and the ranger that we usually help gives us some boring office work to do, we finish it, and then he gets a call from someone telling him that they found a dead hammerhead shark. He asked us if we wanted to tag along and see the shark and Maya and I of course jumped out of our seats. We went to see the shark and I have to admit that it was pretty disgusting. It smelled like death (duh, it's dead) and it was disintegrating. The rangers decided that they should cut off the head so that they could hang the skeleton somewhere, so we watched them as they cut off the head of a disintegrating shark and put it in the bag. Then Maya and I rode in the back of the truck with a shark's head next to us, and we occasionally poked the bag. We decided to name the shark Fred the Head. The sad part was that our friendship with Fred was short because we had to hang his head from a tree so that all the meat and disgusting stuff could decompose and the skeleton would be left. It was pretty disgusting and we smelled like dead fish for the rest of the day...

Part 4: Soccer

Today was a pretty big day for American soccer. I mean America made it to their first ever FIFA final. They beat Egypt 3-0, and they defeated the Spain, the team that is currently ranked as number one in the world (and has some very cute players! Have you seen Torres?!). I was very excited to see how they would play against Egypt, and I was pleasantly surprised. They played very well the first half and they defended amazingly. America had at least six men in their for most of the time, and Tim Howard is an amazing goalie, his saves just blew my mind! And America did accomplish something remarkable, they managed to score two goals against Brazil in the first half. I was amazed, and pleasantly surprised, even though I like the Brazilian team better and wanted them to win (my only reason was that I am in love with Kaka and Pato). The American defense did disintegrate a little during the second half and they allowed Brazil to even out the score, and eventually lead, and win the game. But the match was still great, and the U.S. team should be very proud because they played fantastically!

Part 5: Tennis

For the past week I've been watching and following Wimbledon nonstop, literally. I love watching the Grand Slams, and I've watched all of them this year. I've been very pleased with Federer's performance so far. He is my favorite tennis player and I think that he deserves to win this one so he can prove that he really is the best. I will feel sorry for the Brits is Murray loses though because he is a very good player, but I just don't think that he is good enough to beat Federer, but then again I could be wrong. I'm looking forward to the Federer- Soderling match tomorrow, and I hope that Fed can win it in three sets :D

If you read all this you get a hug from me, because I just realized how long this is :o. I'll go read 13 Little Blue Envelopes now, goodnight <3
